The Company
The Shepherd Investment Strategist,
A Service of JAS MTS Inc.
Founder & President
After seeing the positive returns his investment model produced in the 1980s and early 1990s for his then clients, Jim Shepherd was influenced to share those results with a broader audience of investors. He felt that the writing of a newsletter would meet that desire and do so without dramatically increasing his already busy workload. Thus he started this newsletter in the spring of 1992.
The aim of the newsletter is to keep subscribers apprised, in advance, of major changes in direction of the US stock market. This provides the basis for not only the safety of your portfolio, but its continued substantial growth.
Jim Shepherd feels that the most expedient means to help the investor is to deliver recommendations based on a truthful exposé of the markets based on a sound understanding of economics, a proven proprietary investment model, and exceptional fundamental and technical analysis. Jim's newsletter exposes the media 'spin' and delivers honest declarations about approaching moves, which he is able to predict based on the tools he uses along with his 28 years experience in the investment world. Although it is not a 'get rich quick' service, Jim Shepherd has from time to time delivered some very profitable, quick return recommendations over and above his steady but safe growth philosophy.
Because Jim does not want to be in a position wherein the number of investors that are following his investment recommendations becomes so large that he has the ability to 'move the markets', he has put an upper limit on the number of subscribers that this service will enroll. At the time of writing, that number had not yet been reached.
In late 1997 some changes to the newsletter were necessitated in order to offer the newsletter electronically on the internet. In 2002 the name of the newsletter was changed to The Shepherd Investment Strategist. This is a service of JASMTS Inc. In mid 2009, the web address was changed from www.jasmts.com to www.Investment-Newsletter.com.
